Asante Tours & Travel ("Asante", "we", "us" or "our") is a licensed tour operator based in Kampala, Uganda, arranging private safaris across Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. We know the information you share with us when planning a trip is personal, and we take its protection seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and safeguard it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our email and phone correspondence, and every booking we handle on your behalf.
Asante is responsible for the personal information in our control. Where we ask a third party — an airline, a lodge, a ground operator or a payment provider — to process information so that we can deliver your trip, we share only what is necessary and expect them to protect it to a comparable standard. Our management team oversees privacy compliance, and any member of staff can direct your query to the right person.

We need personal information from every traveller in order to complete a booking. Depending on your trip this may include your name, postal and email address, phone number, date of birth, nationality, passport details, travel-insurance details, emergency contact, dietary needs and payment information.
Sensitive information. Some trips require us to know about a medical condition, allergy, reduced mobility or other need so we can plan safely — for example when assessing whether a gorilla trek is suitable, or arranging a ground-floor room. You provide this information voluntarily, and by giving it to us you consent to our using it, and sharing the relevant parts with the suppliers who need it, for that purpose only.
Other people's information. When you book for a family, a group or a company, you confirm that you are authorised to share the personal information of the other travellers and that they are aware of, and accept, this policy. For anyone under 18, a parent or legal guardian must give consent.
You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual limits — though doing so may mean we can no longer arrange or continue your trip.
We collect only the information we need for the purposes described above, and we collect it by lawful and fair means — usually directly from you by email, phone, web form or booking form. We do not sell personal information, and we do not buy it from data brokers.

We keep personal information only as long as needed to fulfil your trip and to meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised. Anonymised and aggregated data, which does not identify you, may be kept and used to understand demand and improve our itineraries.
Passport names, dates and traveller details must exactly match your travel documents. We rely on the information you give us being correct and current, and we will update our records on your request. Please tell us promptly if anything changes before you travel.
We use reasonable physical, organisational and technical measures to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorised access — including restricted access on a need-to-know basis, secure email practice, and not retaining full card numbers after a payment has been processed. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
Our website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use our pages so we can improve them. These identify your browser or device, not you personally.
We use privacy-respecting website analytics to see which pages and itineraries are popular and where visitors have difficulty. We may also load embedded maps on our itinerary pages, which are served by a third-party mapping provider subject to its own terms.
You can set your browser to refuse some or all cookies, or to alert you when a site sets one; parts of the site may then not work as intended. We do not use our website to build advertising profiles, and we do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals at this time.
Your safari may span Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, and the suppliers who deliver it are located in those countries and occasionally elsewhere. To make your bookings we transfer the necessary information to them, which means your information may be processed outside your home country, under different data-protection laws. We share only what each supplier needs to hold and deliver your reservation.

We may need to verify your identity first, and we may decline a deletion request where we are required to keep the information for a pending trip, a payment, or our legal and accounting obligations. Even after you opt out of marketing, we will still send you essential messages about a trip you have booked.
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website. Where children travel with you, we collect their details from the booking adult for the purpose of the trip only. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The current version is always posted here with its "last updated" date.
